The chapters of my Plastic Girl trilogy are titled as days of Eva’s discovery and interaction with a brand new species that will either bring humanity salvation or extinction. This chapter is one of the shortest ones.
In the last chapter, Eva discovered she was able to transform the strangle plastic-like marine worms into other lifeforms, creating seven beautiful butterflies and releasing them on her island. In Chapter 3, she will bring to life a creature she searches for every day of her life.
Eva wondered more deeply about these strange plastic-type creatures and their origins. Were they aliens? Had they just evolved from the sludge? Were they indeed sentient garbage? She shook her head. She didn't have the years of study to allow her to answer any of these questions academically; she wasn't sure anyone who had ever lived on this planet did, but she did intuitively grasp the heart of it, the mechanics.
A great deal of this series involves the connections that we form with our families that last longs after they are gone, the connections we search for in others once lost. The rest of this series explores what might happen if our pollution and waste become part of us, and how Mother Nature might turn that connection into new life.
If you need to catch up, all previous content is available on the homepage. The weekly chapters will range from 5 minutes to a 40 minute listen. Just depends on how long the chapter runs.
Again, if you can wait, the series is available on ebook, paperback, and hardcover from all online retailers, to order from your local bookstore or library, and on my website www.wickedtreepress.com.
