I’m heading to San Diego Comic Con on Wednesday, and I believe I’m mostly ready. I will never completely be ready for this event. My daughters are traveling down with me, so I’m excited to spend some good ol’ geeky time with them as well as doing the creator thing at this big show. Mike will join us on the weekend, and we get to start talking about our new comic projects.
I’m focusing on three things this show—promoting the Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters series, introducing people to the Monster V. Monster podcast, and connecting with new creative collaborators. This year is all about nurturing our current series while starting new stories and stepping onto fresh paths.
I’ll be on four panels throughout the weekend. Definitely come check one out if you are at the event.
Matt and I will be on the exhibitor floor at Booth G-03 (Ahh! Indie Authors) all day on Friday. I’ll have my Nebula Award winning graphic novel plus the Origins comics. Matt will have his new book Ashland and his Sorcery for Beginners series. We’ll be promoting our new Monster V. Monster podcast. Come on by and pick up some books while talking monsters with us.
I’ll be swinging by the Creator’s Assemble Event on Saturday, the CBLDF party on Thursday night, and the Writer’s Block meet-up on Friday evening. Hope to see you there!
Please let me know what is your must SDCC panel or activity this year! There is always way more to do than I could ever get done.
To bring some of the SDCC fun to your living room, every order (over $20) from the Wicked Tree Press store placed from now until the end of SDCC will come with a bonus Shel and Frank heart enamel pin. We love our readers and wish we could see you all in person!
Here is more information about three of my SDCC panels:

Be sure to check out our many friends on the floor as well!
For Los Angeles peeps, I’ll be at Sherocon the week after SDCC on August 1st, so mark your calendars! This is a smaller, free event but you do still need to reserve tickets.
