On this Christmas Day, Jul, Yule (whatever you may call it), I’m going to share a spooky story about a dear friend of mine who also happens to be a nisse.
A nisse is a mythical creatures from Nordic Folklore. Some nisse are nice, some are not. Many act as guardians unless you cross them, and then they act as vindictive goblins. They are a very passion driven species who love animals, nature, and having a good time. Hanging out with them is a blast unless you get on their bad side. My favorite nisse is my good friend, Gustav. He has the biggest heart, but he also has the biggest temper and bloodlust. It is best to do things his way when hanging out.
Nisser live in homes or barns and are considered guardians if treated well. People generally live in harmony with them because they usually stay out of sight and are helpful.
